Sunday Worship Teams
Altar Guild
Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for Sunday worship by setting up for communion, arranging banners, candles, flowers, taking care of the hymn board and general care of the altar area. Joyce Kisch will spend time training anyone who is interested in helping.
Greeters
Greeters are a vital part of the hospitality gifts of Christ Lutheran. They, of course, greet people as they arrive for worship. They are also prepared to help with questions, introduce you to others including Pastor Julie and show you with pride around Christ Lutheran. Mike Rethwill works with greeters.
Readers/Lectors
Readers assist with worship by reading the assigned text for worship. The readings are mailed or emailed to those who are reading in advance. Chuck Houck schedules readers on a monthly basis. Training is available for readers.
Ushers
The ushers’ tasks are vital to our worship life. Each usher team is assigned particular Sundays throughout the year. They serve by unlocking the church, greeting, providing bulletins, seating people as needed, receiving the offering, guiding people at communion, tidying the sanctuary, and locking the church. John Carlson works with the usher teams.
Communion Assistants
Assist each Sunday with the distribution of Holy Communion. Vicki Meister schedules communion assistants.
Acolytes
Acolytes are in grades 5-10 and they assist with worship each Sunday by lighting and extinguishing the candles, receiving offering, assisting with communion and baptisms and other tasks as needed. The Deacon will help guide the acolyte. Vicki Meister assigns acolytes.
Assisting Ministers
Assisting Ministers are scheduled to assist with worship by leading liturgy – sung or spoken – and prayers, reading, and assisting the presiding minister during the service, etc. Training is available for this position.
Deacon
Assist with Sunday mornings by greeting and readying the acolyte, preparing the church, assisting with communion and other tasks as necessary.
Sound Technicians
Take care of the microphones, sound system and technologies needed any given Sunday morning.
Communion Assistants, Ushers, and Greeters are needed for worship services. If you are interested in serving in one of these roles, please contact Vicki Meister in the church office for more information.
